Mirantis brings OpenStack Cloud to Open Storage Summit 2012

David Fishman - October 31, 2012

Mirantis delivers OpenStack cloud at the 2012 Open Storage SummitWith storage in the cloud taking a lead role in the adoption of cloud computing, according to a recent TechTarget survey, it's a good time to take a deep dive into the role of open source and OpenStack in driving the transition. And so tomorrow's 2012 Virtual Open Storage Summit, led by our friends at Nexenta, comes at an opportune time (not least because the new virtual format spares the challenge of traveling in the wake of this week's weather-driven catastrophes in New Jersey, NYC and the Northeast).

The agenda features a host of practical topics on all things open storage, including a keynote from Zynga on big data and open storage, insights from Nexenta on the new construct of Software Defined Storage, and more.

Mirantis has 30-minute presentations on OpenStack as part of the agenda; one, by technical engagement architect Lee Xie introducing the moving parts of OpenStack, and by Mirantis technical director  Greg Elkinbard on using OpenStack to build Storage as a Service (STaaS).
